Role Summary
Massiv Die-Form is currently looking for a Quailty Manager (Automotive Tooling Operations) to lead the Quality team to ensure a smooth progress of manufacturing, obtain the best quality to meet our customer expectations, deliver a high level of efficiency across all business functions, obtain the lowest cost of manufacturing and operations and review constantly our processes and quality for improvement of quality, performance, cost and profitability.
Key Responsibilities? Manage all personnel in quality assurance, CMM, assembly, and tooling areas.
? Responsible for creating and maintaining Magna's MAFACT world class manufacturing system
? Schedule quality assurance manpower to support production, shipping and receiving including any necessary overtime.
? Keep accurate and up to date records for each employee that is assigned to the tooling, and quality assurance departments. Include: capabilities, output, defect free work, housekeeping, attitude, ability to work as a team player, etc
? Prepare the quotation and department budget.
? Ensure that all subordinates are fulfilling their job descriptions.
? Ensure customer standard requirements are met through coordination of labour planning, and troubleshooting.
? Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process or quality systems.
? Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality systems.
? Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to concerns through designated channels.
? Verify the implementation of those solutions.
? Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
? Has authorization to disposition non-conforming products.
? Liaison with customers regarding concerns, continuous improvement and engineering changes, and fixture updates.
? Provide sales with quotes and timing for fixture engineering changes.
? Ensure that all quality assurance and tooling personnel are trained in any new procedures that are put in place.
? Review quality assurance and tooling paper work and submit to customer.
? Liaison with production, engineering, customer, etc. regarding product development, continuous improvement projects, new job abide prioritizing/delegating where required.
? Prepare reports, maintain records, and communicate all required information to appropriate parties as required or applicable.
? Maintain departmental measurable and initiate actions to reach business plan targets.
? Ensure consistent application of plant rules, policies and procedures including progressive discipline.
? Ensure that all inspection equipment and tools are in good working condition at all times.
? Must be able to make sound decisions under extreme pressure.
? Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions
? Required to train employees on policies, procedures & work instructions applicable to work area according to QEMS
? Perform other reasonable duties as required.
- Post-secondary education in a technical field or equivalent.
- Supervisory experience.
- Six Sigma training
- Strong knowledge of MAFACT, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC
- Able to be trained and provide training to others, i.e. additional job related training etc.
- Good mathematical, organizational and communication skills.
- Able to work in various locations within and outside (i.e. other locations) the plant.
- Able to set up the standard of Class A, Class B, and Class C, as well as inner panels, sub-assembly, and closure panels.
- Able to maintain a positive contribution towards quality, customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Office & Shop Floor environment.
- Day shift with overtime as required.
