Job Description

Under the general direction of the Director, Slot Operations, this position will be responsible for the overall management, leadership and profitability of the Slots Operations as well as the planning and directing of Slot Operation strategies. While implementing all new Slot Operation initiatives, the Manager, Slot Operations ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and provides learning opportunities while establishing a safe, efficient and welcoming work environment for all employees. This role will interact and partner with other department heads, managers and executives on a regular basis. 

 

The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company's vision, mission and values:

  • Develops and provides support, leadership and direction to Slot Operations Management

  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the Slot team while providing continuous coaching for success to achieve high performance

  • Develops and implements Slot Operation policies and procedures

  • Responsibility for all budgeting aspects of the department

  • Evaluates current business models and proposes and implements approved changes

  • Develops and maintains the schedule with a Scheduling Coordinator to ensure proper scheduling practices and to ensure fair and equitable division of shifts within the Slot Operations department

  • Reviews Slot floor plan and operating procedures and identifies opportunities for efficiencies; ensures implementation of table games strategic plans

  • Researches current and future trends as they relate to products and systems, makes recommendations for improvements

  • Preparing and submitting all Slot Operations reporting, and labour costs

  • Develops strategies to ensure the retention of existing and new VIP players

  • Reporting irregularities and suspicious activities - financial or otherwise; reviewing and preparing incident reports

  • Responds to all guest feedback directed at the Slot Operations department and resolves issues that are escalated

  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, employees and regulators

  • Ensures compliance of Slot Operations with policy and procedure, legislation, health and safety and other statutory regulations and programs including AGCO  

  • Monitors and analyzes productivity, work skills and behaviours

  • Active member of the Casino Department Head Meetings

  • Ensures the administrative responsibilities associated with Kronos, Leave Management and Performance Improvement are maintained as per procedure

  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate business units

  • Administers the Collective Agreement and be part of the grievance process

  • Manages other initiatives as required

     

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience

  • 5+ year's experience in Gaming Management, with at least 4 years in a senior management role

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to train and develop employees

  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication

  • A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests

  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development

  • Computer literacy in MS Office

Ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
